Department of Economics
The Department of Economics was started at the inception of the college itself in 1971. To provide higher level quality coaching in the subject. The basic objective was to cater the needs of the education of Economics and allied subject in Naldurg area.
The education of Economics has got importance in all times because it provides education about unlimited wants and scare means. It helps to solve the Economics problems of human being. This subject play major role in Economical, historical, political, social and Cultural background. It helps to develop the study in general knowledge of students to achieve the goal in the competitive examinations. The department has produced many meritorious students has arranged seminars, conference, surveys and tours to create interest and better understanding among the students.
This department is one of the important departments at college campus. Up to now three Head of the Department deed their works successfully in the department. Mr. B. D. Mane leaded the department at first in the year 1971. After Mr. S. R. Mane, and now Dr. A. S. Tidke has been leading the department since 2020.
The department is active in taking various programs for the overall development of the student. Debate, Group Discussion, Economics Association, Elocution Competition, Essay Writing, Field Survey, Newspaper article analysis such competitions has been arranged by the department up to now. For getting extra knowledge of current issues on economics, department arranges every year guest lectures of eminent persons from various colleges & universities.
The department of Economics arranged one conference organized on “Issues in Agricultural Development in Maharashtra” in 2018.
